We first met Ken at the Biggest Week in American Birding, and we were so impressed that we asked him to keynote another one of our favorite nature festivals, the Allegany Nature Pilgrimage.

Ken is a superhero in nature education. While he was with my kindergarten studentes, he was so genuine and talked to them about the natural world in a way that filled them with wonder. What I really appreciated was how engaging he was at the school-wide assembly. From the youngest to the oldest students; he captivated them with his vast knowledge of nature and its creatures. I really liked how he referred to all of them as naturalists. He reminded the kids that they all are a part of nature and that we all have a responsibility to care for it. Afterwards the teachers commented that this was by far the best school assembly we’ve ever had at our school.
